A modern take on stained glass

We worked with Community Action Partners (CAP) in Dover, NH to create a donor wall installation for their Open Doors Campaign. The building that houses the CAP facilities was built on the site of an old church that had stunning stained glass windows. We decided that creating a modern stained glass look would be a nice nod to their location’s history.

The wall is in their sunlight-flooded lobby, so we decided to make the panels frosted translucent plexiglas on standoffs to take advantage of the light. The signature design feature is a geometric pattern that is printed on the back of thin textured acrylic at the base of each panel. The effect evokes stained glass without being too literal or traditional looking.
